Halloween events starting this weekend

Halloween is just a couple of weeks away.  There are plenty of events and activities to chose from to celebrate.  As usual I have included both kid-friendly events and those for adults only.  Most of these are costume optional.  But it is Halloween so have some fun!

Saturday, October 22
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Grab a blanket and head on over to the farm to listen to stories by professional storytellers.  Stories begin at age appropriate for 3 – 5 year olds and progress to a spookier level as the night progresses.  This is a fun evening that is sure to become a family tradition. Popcorn and cider will be provided.  This is a free event.

A great option to all of that candy.  In stead of candy, kids can collect bricks, and enter a variety of contests for a chance to win some fun prizes.

Building, costume contests and mummy races, heck yeah!  And for adults only?  Once a month, this place opens up with one main rule, NO KIDS ALLOWED.

This annual event is a must see every year as the “visiting residents” are always different.  Oakwood Cemetery comes “alive” with various residents coming out to tell their life story.  You can also tour the chapel, including the area where lost tombstones are kept while the families are located.  Check out this great living history event complete with bagpipes and an old hurst carriage.

Proceeds benefit the North Fort Worth Historical Society.  Tickets can be purchased onsite.  It is a walking tour through the cemetery so wear closed-toe shoes.

Combining my love of writing and live theater I began publishing with Examiner.com in 2009. Since that time I have expanded my contributions to numerous forms of live entertainment, film and much more. In July of 2016 Examiner.com shut down their website. I decided to continue exploring and sharing my adventures through my own blogging site. Becoming a resource for my audience seeking entertainment options in the DFW area is a top priority.
