Local adventures in 2018 on your bucket-list?

Fort Worth is self-proclaimed as the “City of Cowboys and Culture”. This statement resonated very true to me during a recent trip to Washington, DC.

Washington is the home of the Smithsonian Institution.  The Smithsonian Institution is comprised of numerous museums, art galleries, research center and more. During my visit to the Smithsonian museums and galleries I continuously came across artists whom I was familiar with due to my visits to museums here in Fort Worth. Many of the artists whose work is on exhibit in DC have or have had exhibitions in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Kimbell Art Museum, Amon Carter Museum of American Art or Fort Works Art. These are just a handful of the museum in Fort Worth. If you missed by article highlighting 14 local museums, check it out HERE.

It is a great idea to sign up for the museum newsletter or email list to stay informed of upcoming events or shows. You would be surprised at the variety of programming offered at these local museums. These venues offer programs and/or events for all ages. From summer camps, teen nights, tea times and more there is something for everyone. If you are interested in learning more about art or artist, there are lecture series offered on a regular basis at several of the museums.

If your goals for 2018 are to learn more about art, learn something new or just get out more you should definitely visit the list of museums. My challenge to you my readers this year is, “Adventure Awaits…Go Find It!”

Combining my love of writing and live theater I began publishing with Examiner.com in 2009. Since that time I have expanded my contributions to numerous forms of live entertainment, film and much more. In July of 2016 Examiner.com shut down their website. I decided to continue exploring and sharing my adventures through my own blogging site. Becoming a resource for my audience seeking entertainment options in the DFW area is a top priority.
