Wine overflows on the train this past weekend

Once a year the Grapevine Vintage Railroad offers the Jazz Wine Train. It is a two hour train excursion where you sit back and forget the stresses of the week.

This past weekend we arrived early to enjoy the jazz performance at the Cotton Belt Depot before the event. The band included, a variety of drums, trumpets, and of course saxophone players. Once the train left the station, we sat back and relaxed while we enjoyed the smooth sounds of jazz. The wine servers came by with our souvenir wine glass just as we were getting settled in. Then the wine started flowing. The servers came by with 10 different wines tastings for us to enjoy throughout the excursions. These wines come from a variety of wineries in Grapevine, TX. Our servers were a husband and wife team who truly enjoy introducing folks to new wines. They were very knowledgable about Texas wines.

Included in the price of tickets was a selection of delicious hot d’oeuvres from Chill Catering. The evening would not be complete without three delectable desserts from Main Street Bistro and Bakery.

Even the threat of severe weather was not enough to deter folks from boarding this train. Luckily for us the rain did hold off. This was the perfect way to unwind and a great start to the weekend!

Combining my love of writing and live theater I began publishing with Examiner.com in 2009. Since that time I have expanded my contributions to numerous forms of live entertainment, film and much more. In July of 2016 Examiner.com shut down their website. I decided to continue exploring and sharing my adventures through my own blogging site. Becoming a resource for my audience seeking entertainment options in the DFW area is a top priority.
